Vision of the Mission Center

MISSION_CENTERFive months after our arrival in the Philippines in September 2000 this statement was made in White Harvest’s Newsletter: ‘OUR VISION IS BIG!’ These words have truly turned out to be prophetic.

It was very apparent from the start that Equipping the Saints (Ephesians 4:11-12) must be one of our ministry priorities. A Vision was received from the Lord in October 2001 about building a Library/Equipping Center that would not only benefit His Church, but also the multitude of students (over 75,000) attending High Schools and Colleges in our city. The following words were given by the Holy Spirit as a directive on how the fulfillment of this plan would be accomplished:

I will provide the funds for the building(s), but someone in the Philippines will donate the land.’

The building of a Library/Equipping Center was only the first of several succeeding Visions.

The second Vision was given in November 2005 of building an Orphanage. Our first thoughts were: ‘How can we do this Lord?’ His response was immediate, ‘I will show you the way.’

There are so many children here that are neglected, abused, and abandoned. Jesus said, ‘Suffer the little children to come unto Me.’ If some of these precious little ones can be loved, nurtured, and trained in the ways of the Lord, their lives will become spiritual lighthouses for the King.

The third Vision of building a Youth Center was given in March 2006. Our 9 years of living in the Philippines have shown us clearly the great need for such a Center. Thousands here have never attended High School, and therefore have little hope of obtaining any decent way of living. Our desire is to create meaningful, career-oriented, God-honoring programs that will not only introduce them to the Savior, but also enhance their capability of securing a hopeful future.

In the summer of 2003, Nora & I were asked to be the Advisers of the Malolos Youth aFlame (a youth fellowship comprised of 10-15 Churches). Over the past 5 years, this ministry has grown to be the catalyst in reaching tens of thousands of young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The final Vision given was to build Conference Centers to supply the much-needed daily income for the Orphanage and Youth Center. The Philippines is the Christian Conference Capital of the World. Tens of thousands of Conferences/Seminars are held each year by different Ministries/Groups. The plan is to have one large outdoor facility that will accommodate 1,500 people, and four smaller Conference halls that will hold 200 or less.

We truly believe that the Mission’s Center will benefit and serve hundreds of thousands of people, and will be the vehicle to bring transformation to a multitude of hearts and lives.
